A book stand is a real convenience for every real lover of books. Currently tendered types vary from straight forward wire creations such as the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at adjustable angles on any flat surface, to the infinitely more elaborate LEVO Bookholder that embraces your book or other reading material in either a floor stand design or a clamp-on model that easily clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand models function well with hard cover books, but most also can work very nicely with paperbacks held in book holders like an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is among the least expensive of book stands. It folds compactly and is sold with it’s own plastic pouch punched for use in a 3 ring binder. It may be placed on a countertop for recipe books, or the top of a desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders extend from the back plane to secure the covers and open pages of your book, and, by moving the arms either closer together or farther apart, smaller and larger books may be readily accommodated. The back plane has horizontal pieces that may be moved to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative the substrate.

The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted rolling base for easy movement just about anywhere. Wherever you choose to put it, the LEVO can position in virtually any position. With a bookboard that can be adjusted in any plane, and coupled with a book mounting mechanism that will secure your book, even in an inverted position, the LEVO makes reading truly hands-free practically anywhere.

The LEVO Clamp-on model is just as convenient as its floor standing sibling, but provides a clamp that safely attaches to any countertop, workbench, desk, table or other flat surface up to 2 inches thick, and offers identical movements as the floor model, without the range of vertical telescoping movements. By supporting your reading materials off the surface to which it is secured, the desk model saves the weight and expense of the weighted rolling base while still freeing up valuable work space, since your book doesn’t rest on the surface.

Even though there are other book stand designs now available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow designs have stood the test of time and stand up well to long term use.
